Thom Yorke on BBC Radio 1
After a tour come Thailand and Mexico, basically a holiday, Thom Yorke says, though Radiohead will be playing there too.
14 September 1994 · BBC Radio 1 · Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke comes on the line to the Evening Session from Maida Vale, where Radiohead have spent the day recording new songs for Radio 1, every one of them a change of direction. He sounds subdued because he is nervous. Glastonbury was the best festival of the year, better than Reading. When the presenter likens the wait to the dentist's, Thom introduces “Bones” as a song about sitting in a dentist's chair, he thinks. After a tour that starts in a couple of weeks come Thailand and Mexico, basically a holiday, he says, though they will be playing there too. Told that a world tour next year sounds very R.E.M., he says “we're almost as big as them.”
