Radiohead on MusiquePlus
Another copy of the interview for Claude Rajotte's programme Cimetière des CD, in which Thom Yorke talks about his favourite albums rather than the one he was promoting.
He calls Björk the only pop artist he finds inspiring at that point, for her voice and invention and for improving across a long career, which he says very few manage. He is envious that she was making albums as a child, and at 12 would have wanted nothing more than to be handed a tape recorder. She had said hello to him at a television show the week before. She was only being polite, he insists, and he had no idea what to say.
Bitches Brew was a gift from Jonny Greenwood, played once and rejected outright, then returned to much later and found extraordinary. Another famous Miles Davis album still leaves him cold, and he prefers a Cecil Taylor record that sounds to him as though a cat has landed on the piano.
Around that time he had gone off guitar music and rock altogether.
