MTV News's weekend edition catches Radiohead in Barcelona, where they have just premiered OK Computer. One of the band says carrying on the way of The Bends would have been great for the accountants, but as usual they screwed it up, because they were somewhere else by then. A huge Radiohead fan has already told him, honestly, that at first the fan was really disappointed not to get a Bends mark two. At the end of the sessions this band member spent a sleepless week trying to sequence the record into something more acceptable, sending the others tapes of running orders while they stopped talking to him, until he accepted it demanded effort, as all his favourite records did.

“Paranoid Android” came from trying what the Beatles did on “Happiness Is a Warm Gun”, recording separate bits and sticking them together. The cartoon Robin got the video because one of them, working on the artwork, used to get drunk watching a tape of the cartoons, watch Robin get drunk, and think “that's me”.
