Phil Selway's fan club, 20 strong, began with a girl in Japan who was supposed to be at a Phil Collins concert next door.

With Thom Yorke exercising his vocal cords elsewhere, a TV reporter talks to Ed O'Brien, Colin and Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway in 1997, after a week of journalists from 20 countries. The questions they are asked most are why the album is called OK Computer and whether a six-and-a-half-minute single, “Paranoid Android”, is commercial suicide.

Six and a half minutes of the band in a video would have been ponderous, and the song is partly tongue in cheek, so the video is a cartoon, starring Robin, a character who is naive and quite a naughty boy. In a running joke the reporter suggests something nice and light, and after a clip billing them as the new Bucks Fizz, the pop group, the reporter proposes something fun for the kids, a Peter Andre song perhaps, or the boy band 911.

Selway confirms the fan club rumour: it began in Japan with a girl who was meant to be seeing Phil Collins in the arena next door, and it is now 20 strong. The others' clubs, they decide, would be Colin's All Right, Jonny Will Do and Ed's Okay, while Phil is still great.
