Ed O'Brien, Colin and Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway are filmed in Barcelona, where OK Computer was being premiered. Thom Yorke is elsewhere, exercising his voice.
Journalists from more than 20 countries had flown in that week, and the band are already weary of the questions they get asked most, which the programme then asks again: why the album is called what it is, and whether a six-and-a-half-minute single counts as commercial suicide.
The animated video has a practical reason behind it. Six and a half minutes of four men in a film would have been ponderous, and since the song is partly tongue in cheek, a naive and slightly badly behaved cartoon character could carry it instead.
In a long running joke somebody advises them to lighten up and do something nice for the children, with unhelpful suggestions as to whom they might model themselves on.
It closes on Phil Selway's fan club, by then about 20 members, which Selway traces back to a shirt spotted in Japan and a fan who had turned up at the wrong arena.
