Thom Yorke on MTV
Thom Yorke's only idea for the “Paranoid Android” video was a channel-flicking scene from Being There that lands on something like Sesame Street.

Thom Yorke joins Matt Pinfield on MTV's 120 Minutes in 1998, with Seven Television Commercials, the band's video compilation, just out. He has no eye for videos and does not understand them, so the band find a director and give them as much free rein as they can.
For “Paranoid Android” his one spark was the scene in Being There where a man in a limousine flicks channels with a big fat remote and lands on something like Sesame Street. While they finished the OK Computer artwork, he and Stanley Donwood were out of their heads every night watching Magnus Carlsson's Robin cartoons and deciding that was the song.
Massive Attack were meant to remix the whole album until their manager told them to finish their own record first. Yorke was going to do something on their album and had no time. 3D of Massive Attack stood at the side of the stage at Glastonbury in 1997 with his hired Winnebago stuck in the mud, its batteries flattened by an all-night party, dodging friends he had not told they were stuck there for the weekend. Yorke also has a track on the UNKLE record with DJ Shadow and James Lavelle, due in September.
