Thom Yorke on MusicExpress

MusicExpress notes that Kid A gets no videos, and Thom Yorke says that though the songs will be played live, he will not tour it four times in a row like a hamster on its wheel. He remembers Radiohead playing “My Iron Lung” at the 1995 Smash Hits poll winners' show, on a bill with Take That. At the side of the stage it dawned on him how utterly stupid it was, and he told the stage manager they were not going on. Then they went on, and the faces of some of the parents in the crowd were worth seeing. “I was really proud we did it.” He minded Clueless calling them complaint rock at the time, because “Fake Plastic Trees” meant a lot to him; now he probably would not.
