Thom Yorke on E!
The new songs have a positive energy because the band are enjoying playing together, which he calls a new thing for them.
30 September 2003 · E! · Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke tells E! that music is there to trigger memories, so “if you sell your music for a car ad, then you're selling everybody's memory of that music and robbing them of it.” People pirate because the radio gives them nothing and the little indie shops have shut, he says, and radio started playing their own record because it was out on the net. The new songs have a positive energy, he says, because the band are enjoying playing together, and that is a new thing for them. He is baffled that anyone has sex to Radiohead, though one woman tells him she does it to “Paranoid Android”.
