Thom Yorke on BBC Radio 4
Thom Yorke has long been obsessed with Today, and while making Hail to the Thief he was up with his son and the programme every morning.
31 December 2003 · BBC Radio 4 · Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke comes on air at the end of his morning as guest editor of Radio 4's Today programme, straight after a discussion on oil he chose. The thought rattling round his head all year, he says, is that whatever the government says about the war in Iraq, “really oil is the fundamental reason”. He saw panic stations when a breaking story about an arrest threatened his running order, and he asked for an item on hangovers, since world politics takes up 99% of his life and drinking the rest. He has been obsessed with Today for years, and through the making of Hail to the Thief he was up with his son, and the programme, every morning.
