Radiohead on The Jonathan Ross Show
Jonathan Ross congratulates Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and then puts the general view of Radiohead to them, which he sums up as sitting around picking at scabs and reading old Russian novels. They take it in good part and make it worse, calling themselves gloom-mongers. He also gets onto Yorke's dress sense and the chances of a Radiohead Eurovision entry.
On Hail to the Thief, not yet released and already circulating online, Ross tries out the line that it returns to an older form. He admits Kid A baffled him at first, that it took about 20 listens to get through, and that it is now his favourite of their albums.
What the band do object to is their music being laid over documentary footage of mass graves, which they find a slightly unfair use of them.
They also tell of trying to persuade their record company to promote Kid A with anything other than television advertising.
