Thom Yorke on Grist.TV
He got into the Copenhagen talks on a press pass like any reporter, and wonders how long it will be before he is thrown out.
17 December 2009 · Grist.TV · Thom Yorke
Thom Yorke came to the Copenhagen climate talks at the last minute, after days of reading blogs about them and still not understanding what was going on, and is angry to find the NGOs thrown out. They kept the argument going “when no one else could”, he tells Grist, and without them it will be “very easy to do a greenwash”. He wants “a lot of uptight middle-aged men” at the table to look past their own self-interest, and found the Americans talking down their own offer the day before wildly unhelpful. He got in on a press pass like any reporter, and is waiting to see how long it takes before he is thrown out.
