Jonny Greenwood
For Norwegian Wood he wrote much of the guitar music as though he were a woman learning guitar after a breakdown, and found it easy.

Jonny Greenwood talks about film scores, his adolescent fantasy come true. He collected soundtracks for a while, French ones especially, and loves that the pieces are one or two minutes long, the only way music like that ever gets written or released. On There Will Be Blood he got an easy ride, because Paul Thomas Anderson is obsessed with music; they put too much in and had to take some out.
He read the Norwegian Wood script and then the book, the wrong way round, and much of the guitar music came from something in the book that is not in the film: a piano teacher who goes to a retreat after a breakdown and has to learn the guitar. He wrote as though he were her, playing classical music slightly incompetently, and found it very easy. He has just about finished the score for We Need to Talk About Kevin for Lynne Ramsay, with a harpist whose harp is strung with metal. He is a big fan of Adam and Joe, whose show is coming back to 6 Music, and the rest of the band catch him round gigs chuckling at their podcast; when he met Adam Buxton he was star-struck, which he thinks Buxton found a bit weird. He is not sure he is ready for a romcom.
