Phil Selway to play two of Merce Cunningham's Events at the Barbican

Phil Selway is one of seven musicians making the music for Merce Cunningham's Events at the Barbican Theatre in London, six evenings from 14 to 19 June. He plays on Tuesday 14 June, the press night, with John King and Scanner (Robin Rimbaud), and on Thursday 16 June with King and Kaffe Mathews.
Each Event is made for the Barbican stage with its own choreography, décor and music, so no two nights are alike. Richard Hamilton designs Selway's first, and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin plays two nights too. The evenings run about 70 minutes without an interval, and tickets cost £10 to £35.
It is the Merce Cunningham Dance Company's fifth visit to the Barbican in six years. Last October the theatre gave the UK premiere of Split Sides, the Cunningham piece with music by Radiohead and Sigur Rós, one of three of the company's works co-commissioned by BITE, the Barbican International Theatre Events.
