Thom Yorke and Ed O'Brien take over Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show
Thom Yorke and Ed O'Brien presented Zane Lowe's show on BBC Radio 1 tonight, two hours from 7pm, and Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway rang in during the second hour, after Carl Craig's “Demented”. Their pick for the Hottest Record in the World, Lowe's nightly spot, was Burial's “Archangel”. The 22 records ran from M.I.A.'s “Paper Planes” to Grizzly Bear's “He Hit Me (It Felt Like a Kiss)”, by way of Sonic Youth, the Happy Mondays, XTC, the Damned and Konono No. 1.
Lowe is on holiday, and for a fortnight Radio 1 has filled his slot with guests sharing the show with the station's Annie Mac. Radiohead were the last of them, the night after the band played 93 Feet East on Brick Lane.
