The Copenhagen Philharmonic plays both halves of St. Carolyn by the Sea / Suite From There Will Be Blood, conducted by André de Ridder.
Greenwood's half is six movements from his score for Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 film There Will Be Blood, and two of their titles come from the film's people. “Henry Plainview” is named for the man who passes himself off as the oil man's half-brother, and “HW/Hope of New Fields” for the oil man's son.
Dessner's half opens the record with three orchestral works: “St. Carolyn by the Sea” from 2011, “Lachrimae” from 2012 and “Raphael”.
