Thom Yorke's signed bowler hat sells for £8,300 for charity

A bowler hat signed and worn by Thom Yorke sold on eBay on Sunday 29 November for £8,300, after 100 bids. Most reports took it to be the hat Yorke wears through the black-and-white video for “Lotus Flower”; Pitchfork dated it to the King of Limbs period, when he also wore a bowler on stage. The reports had Yorke's signature inside it, beside a hand-drawn Radiohead logo.

Radiohead announced the sale on the morning of Monday 23 November with a post on Twitter and Instagram that opened For Sale: one bowler hat.² Bidding had passed £4,700 by that afternoon. The listing was the Scottish testicular cancer charity Cahonas Scotland's own, and all of the money goes to it.
