The Smile book four European festivals for summer 2024

The Smile have been named for four European festivals next summer, from a co-headline with Pulp in Athens on 20 June to Rock en Seine outside Paris on 25 August. Release Athens, which announced its night on 22 November, says it will be the band's first show in Greece. Radiohead last played there in June 2000, a night at the Earth Theatre in Thessaloniki and two at the Lycabettus Theatre in Athens.

The bookings came one festival at a time, on top of the tour announced with Wall of Eyes, the band's second album. Flow in Helsinki put The Smile in its first wave on the same day as Athens. The festival turns 20 next year, on the site of an old power plant at Suvilahti, and Fred again.., Pulp and PJ Harvey were on that first list too.

On 4 December Øya in Oslo added the band to the second wave for its 25th edition in Tøyenparken, where Pulp, PJ Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age and Gabrielle top the bill.

Rock en Seine had announced its line-up on 29 November. The Smile play the last day, a Sunday, on a bill with PJ Harvey and Róisín Murphy in the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, the park just west of Paris.
