Paul Thomas Anderson filmed Junun in a Rajasthan fort after customs sent his cameras home.

In February 2015 Jonny Greenwood, Shye Ben Tzur and Nigel Godrich spent nearly three weeks recording in Mehrangarh Fort, above Jodhpur. Anderson's new gear was held at customs and shipped back to America, so he shot almost all of it on one small digital camera, with Godrich's drone for the views over the roof.
