America first heard Kid A in 3-D glasses, in front of a film about fish.
On 5 September 2000 Capitol played the album to about 600 people at the Sony IMAX in New York, over footage of the ocean floor, sharks and crabs included. Capitol admitted the film had not been made for the album. More than 150 were turned away.
