Jonny Greenwood's score for The Master put four old records beside eleven of his own pieces.

It was his second score for Paul Thomas Anderson, after There Will Be Blood. The London Contemporary Orchestra plays six of his pieces, and Ella Fitzgerald, Jo Stafford and Helen Forrest sing songs of the 1950s. The film opened in Venice on 1 September 2012.
