Song · On a Friday / pre-Pablo Honey (1986–92)
Climbing Up a Bloody Great Hill
First song on the four-track tape the band made in the summer of 1990, when they were calling themselves Shindig.

the shindig tape
It opens the tape the band recorded on a four-track in the summer of 1990, when they had put the On a Friday name aside and were playing as Shindig. It is funk-pop with 1960s touches. Two other songs from the same tape became B-sides in 1995: “How Can You Be Sure?” and, reworked, “Maquiladora”. This one stayed a demo, and the tape went round online in January 2006, by way of a fan site.
