El President
A Drugstore song sung as a duet with Thom Yorke, and a UK top twenty hit in 1998.
1998
white magic for lovers
Drugstore were an Anglo-Brazilian band led by Isabel Monteiro, and this is their song: a slow, sour duet about a dictator's funeral, from White Magic for Lovers.
Yorke sings the second voice on it. Released as a single in 1998, it became the band's biggest hit, which was not what anyone had expected of them, and it remains the recording most people know them for.
the record
