Love Will Tear Us Apart

Thom Yorke sang it in Oakland in 2010, with a band that was not Radiohead.

Joy Division's single came out in 1980, shortly after the death of their singer, Ian Curtis, in May.

Thom Yorke's band Atoms for Peace, with Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco, played it at the Fox Theater in Oakland on 15 April 2010, on the American run that ended at Coachella that weekend. They had played The Eraser straight through, and Yorke had sung alone at the piano and on acoustic guitar. Later the house lights came up and recorded music played for five minutes while the crowd kept calling, and the band came back once more to close the night on Joy Division. Fan footage was out the next day.

The night belongs to Atoms for Peace, so it is not in the Radiohead archive. Radiohead's own Joy Division cover is “Ceremony”, which they played in Oxford for the Thumbs Down webcast on 9 November 2007.
