Radiohead on BBC Radio 1
Colin Greenwood wins the show's Wheel of Misfortune four to one, knowing that Geri Halliwell is a Leo.

Mark and Lard bring their Radio 1 show to a hotel lounge in Verona on 30 May 2001, hours before Radiohead play the city's Roman arena and five days before Amnesiac is out. Thom Yorke and Colin Greenwood take the questions, while Jonny Greenwood says nothing and plays the jingles on electronic drums, one of them set to “My Sharona”; his wife, the hosts point out, is called Sharona.
They change the set every night, which gives their lighting engineer a nervous breakdown. Before their last show, in France, they put “The Tourist” in as the closing song, then realised two minutes before going on that none of them knew the last chord, and the crew ran round backstage asking for a copy of OK Computer. That story is their entry ticket to the hosts' Wheel of Misfortune quiz, which Colin wins four to one, helped by knowing that Geri Halliwell is a Leo. Told that Luke Haines of the Auteurs and Black Box Recorder is calling for a national pop strike, a week of silence from 2 July, they sign up at once and offer to move their homecoming at South Park in Oxford back a week.
Yorke hated “Knives Out” for a long time. “I like it now, I understand it now,” he says. Amnesiac and Kid A are two records because, one of them says, the songs don't work together, and both in one go would give you a big headache. The second “Morning Bell” is on Amnesiac because it explains a lot of the rest; Yorke was “in the middle of this recurring dream which at the time I thought was extremely important”.
A song played on French radio as “Tongue Tied” turns out to be “Cuttooth”, a B-side that isn't out yet. The lyrics came off the sleeves because, one of them says, he was tired of journalists reading them, and they are going on the website for listeners who don't speak English. Yorke crosses the lounge to a small upright piano, takes his watch off and plays “Pyramid Song”, his son Noah's favourite.
