Colin Greenwood on BBC 6 Music
A run of shows in Belgium and Germany had them in a groove by the time they reached Glastonbury.
28 June 2003 · BBC 6 Music · Colin Greenwood
Colin Greenwood is walked through the Glastonbury backstage just after Radiohead's 2003 set, and a sewage tanker drives past mid-question. Shows in Belgium and Germany had them in a groove before they got there. The crowd singing the end of “Karma Police” was “the absolute pinnacle” of the night. In 1997 it went wrong technically in the first three songs and they could hear nothing, so they concentrated; this time they enjoyed listening to each other. Ed O'Brien used to go to the festival a lot, but Colin got agoraphobia and claustrophobia at once.
