Colin Greenwood on MTV Canada
Where a stop on the tour means fans driving out of town, he says, they take the compromise.
15 August 2008 · MTV Canada · Colin Greenwood
Colin Greenwood tells MTV Canada that Radiohead's greener touring is not about saving the planet, since the best way to cut their footprint “is to not go on tour at all”, and that would negate their existence. So they ship the gear instead of flying it and work with promoters on energy savings; where a show means people driving out of town, they take the compromise. Every light on stage is LED, cooler and calmer to play under than the fierce beams of a normal rock show, and he loved an American review that likened it to Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
