Colin Greenwood on BBC 6 Music
Thom Yorke DJs the launch of the remix album at the Boiler Room the following night, with Jamie xx and Caribou.

Colin Greenwood rings Lauren Laverne at BBC 6 Music from a blustery Oxford on the day TKOL RMX 1234567, the remix album of The King of Limbs, comes out, on a line that keeps cutting out. This time, he says, they asked people whose music they liked to work from what the songs began as, improvised rhythms and loops, rather than put a couple of new things under a vocal. A lot of it is made to be played loud in clubs. It made sense to him at Plastic People a few months ago, when Thom Yorke played a remix of “Feral” and the crowd went mad. The next night Yorke DJs the album's launch at the Boiler Room with Jamie xx and Caribou, streamed online.
At Saturday Night Live, the host Alec Baldwin introduced himself to the band dressed as the Milky Bar Kid, with two toy guns and a child's cowboy hat. The day in a tiny dressing room ran until two in the morning, and Greenwood thinks being cooped up is why the New York shows a couple of days later felt so electric. Plans for next year are still being made, but playing between two brilliant drummers has left him wanting more. “I just can't wait to do more of that.”
