3 June 2012 · CRF · Colin Greenwood
Colin Greenwood, global ambassador for the Children's Radio Foundation, records a message for its evening because Radiohead are on tour in Washington DC. He heard about the charity a few years ago from a friend, Charlotte, who was working for it, and as a lifelong radio fan wanted to help. He admires the young African reporters, the quality of their reporting and their training, and radio itself, “still the most widespread medium used in Africa”, which reaches places and people that newspapers and the internet struggle to reach. Radio was a big part of his family's life when he was growing up, he says, and it is now for his own three boys.
