“Thief” is an early Can recording, made in the late 1960s with Malcolm Mooney singing and released on the compilation Delay 1968.

Radiohead first played it in Copenhagen on 8 September 2000, in the first encore after “Talk Show Host”, and seven times that year. When the Warrington show of 2 October went out online, the NME counted it among four unreleased songs in the set. It came back in 2001, and by Salamanca on 7 August 2002 it had been played on ten nights, a long run for a Radiohead cover.
