Radiohead make their television debut on ITV's The Beat

written up for the archive

Radiohead are on television for the first time tonight, playing “Anyone Can Play Guitar” and “Creep” on The Beat, ITV's music programme, on Carlton in London. The new single is in the shops on 1 February, four days from now, with “Coke Babies” and “Faithless, the Wonder Boy” on the other side.

The band recorded the songs in The Beat's studio this month, and “Blow Out” was put on tape too. The fan who posted the broadcast calls it the earliest footage there is of Radiohead as a band.
