Radiohead play a Black Session for Bernard Lenoir in Paris
Radiohead played a Black Session for Bernard Lenoir on Tuesday 21 February, in front of an audience at the Maison de la Radio in Paris and broadcast on France Inter. Much of The Bends, which is out on 13 March, was played, and the title track opened.
It was the 67th of Lenoir's Black Sessions, and Radiohead's second, after their first on 23 February 1993. José Arthur, the France Inter presenter Lenoir calls his radio father, gave up half an hour of his own airtime so that two bands could go out that evening: Weezer and Radiohead.
“Creep” came second to last, run straight into “My Iron Lung”, and when it was over Lenoir told his listeners what the song has meant to the band.
The unavoidable Creep. It's with this that it all began, at least four years ago: Radiohead's calling card, but their millstone too.
