NME readers vote Radiohead's OK Computer best album
NME's readers have voted OK Computer best album at the NME Awards with Miller Genuine Draft, held tonight at the Brixton Academy in London. Radio 1 listeners made Radiohead's Evening Session the session of the year. NME's own writers preferred Spiritualized for their album of the year, with Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.
The band were not there. They finished a run of shows in Japan on 24 January and open their New Zealand dates in Auckland tomorrow night, so they accepted by video. Thom Yorke got the speech wrong five times, NME.com reports, and then Jonny Greenwood took over and finished it in one take.
