Laika and Clinic to open for Radiohead on the summer tour

Laika and Clinic will open for Radiohead on the summer tour, Thom Yorke has written on radiohead.com, calling both bands great. Laika open the first eight nights, in France, Spain and Italy; Clinic, from Liverpool, take the last ten, from Thessaloniki on 25 June to Caesarea on 9 July, London included.

Some dates have sold out, and extra tickets for every night but London are now on sale through radiohead.com, four to a buyer. NME thinks more for London very unlikely, since that show is part of Scott Walker's Meltdown festival at the Royal Festival Hall.

A spokesman said in March that there would be no festivals at all, though the dates leave the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury free, because the band want to play to crowds who have come to see Radiohead. They didn't want normal venues either, and looked hard for something different, so the run takes in several old theatres.

In the same post Yorke recommended The Delgados' The Great Eastern and Sigur Rós, from Iceland, and said the band are rehearsing for the tour while Nigel Godrich mixes the new album. I am so tired. I'm working stupid hours trying to get everything finished, also rehearsing.²
