Nigel Godrich, Radiohead's producer, has mixed City Reading (Tre Storie Western), the album Air have made with the Italian writer Alessandro Baricco, MTV News reports. The French duo of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel recorded more than an hour of new instrumentals for it, and Baricco reads from his novel City over them in three pieces: “La Putana di Closing Town”, “Caccia All'uomo” and “Bird”. It is out on 25 March.
The project began last summer, when Baricco asked Air to play live while he read. The show opened at the Teatro Valle in Rome in November, and the way it was received persuaded the duo to make it an album.
