“There There” gets its first official plays on Radio 1 and Xfm

Jo Whiley gave “There There” its first official play on Radio 1 shortly after noon on Monday, and Xfm aired it the same day. Radio 1 had named 22 April for the premiere, so the first single from Hail to the Thief arrived eight days early. It is out on Parlophone on 26 May.

Xfm has Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway booked for Zoë Ball's show on 28 May, and on 3 June John Kennedy's X-posure plays the album in full while Thom Yorke talks through it track by track.

Listeners in France and Los Angeles had reportedly heard the song first. Around midnight on 1 April, after the album leaked online at the end of March, the French station RTL2 played “There There” and “Scatterbrain”. On 3 April KROQ in Los Angeles played a “There There” that sounded like the finished recording rather than one of the leaked MP3s.
