Radiohead give War Child a Jonny Greenwood remix of “Go to Sleep”
Radiohead are giving a new version of “Go to Sleep” to warchildmusic.com, War Child's download site, which launches on 9 September. It was recorded live in Osaka and remixed by Jonny Greenwood.
The site went up quietly at the start of August with the 20 tracks of Help, War Child's 1995 album, online for the first time. Help raised more than £1.25 million for children in Bosnia. Radiohead's track on it was “Lucky”, which made its first appearance there.
The track will cost 99p, with the profits going to War Child's work for children in war zones, or a subscription for unlimited downloads costs £3.50 a month. Massive Attack, Bloc Party and Lucky Jim also have tracks there at the launch, Bloc Party's a new song. James Topham, the site's managing director, says everything on it will be exclusive, and that the charity is after live recordings, remixes, covers and unreleased songs.
The band played the song on only one of their two nights at Intex Osaka in April, the second, on 15 April.
