Radiohead to headline both parks at V Festival 2006

written up for the archive

Radiohead and Morrissey are the headliners at V Festival 2006, the festival director Bob Angus announced today. Gigwise had reported the booking in January on the word of a source it did not name, and the band said nothing at the time.

V runs at two parks on the same weekend, and Radiohead close both, Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Saturday 19 August and Weston Park in Staffordshire on Sunday 20 August. Morrissey tops the bill at the other site each night, and Beck, Bloc Party and Kasabian are also playing. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, at £58.50 for a day, £100 for the weekend and £120 with camping.

It will be the band's first British festival since they headlined Glastonbury in June 2003; they played none in 2004 or 2005.
