Radiohead are mastering the new album in New York, says a fan
A fan who met Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Nigel Godrich in New York last week says Radiohead are in the city mastering their seventh album. The three were at Spoon's record release party at Hi-Fi, a bar in the East Village, and told the fan that once the mastering was done they would listen to the album and see what they thought. O'Brien wrote on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, in June that it was nearly there. NME expects it before the end of the year.
Outside, the fan's friend gave Colin a cigarette and asked about “Nude”, a song Thom Yorke first played alone in Tokyo in January 1998. The band played it through that year, for a while as “Big Ideas (Don't Get Any)”. They brought it back in a new arrangement at 34 shows in 2006, from the first night in Copenhagen. Asked whether it would be on the new album, Colin looked uncomfortable, laughed, said maybe, if we can do it right
1 and went back inside.
