Bat for Lashes to support Radiohead in Europe and Britain

Bat for Lashes, the project of the singer Natasha Khan, will open for Radiohead on their summer run through Ireland, mainland Europe and Britain, starting at Malahide near Dublin on 6 June. Her dates are the band's own shows and one festival, Daydream in Barcelona; the tour's festival dates at Southside and Hurricane in Germany, Roskilde, Werchter and Arras are not on her list. The North American dates in May go to Liars, named on Monday.

Her debut album, Fur and Gold, was on the Mercury Prize shortlist last year, and Thom Yorke is already on record as a fan. When he chose ten songs for an iTunes Celebrity Playlist in January 2007, he put her “Horse and I” first, and said it seemed to come out of the world of Grimm's fairy tales. I love the harpsichord and the sexual ghost voices and bowed saws.⁴
