Ed O'Brien says Radiohead go back into the studio in January
Radiohead go back into the studio in January, Ed O'Brien wrote on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, on Saturday. The vibe in the camp is fantastic at present, and we head off into the studio in January to continue on from the work we started last Summer
9. He is excited by what they are doing and can say nothing more about it. In October he told NME the band would record this winter.

, Ed writes, and a change is the aim. What's reassuring now, is that we are most definitely a different band, which should therefore mean that the music is different too

He thanks the year's audiences, from the March dates in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile to the August nights that took the band to Austria and Prague for the first time and back to Poland for the first time since 1994. The last night, at Reading, felt to him like a fitting finale.
The post opens on the climate summit in Copenhagen, which Thom Yorke attended and wrote about on Dead Air Space this week. Ed has not yet spoken to Thom, but from his posts and the papers he calls the outcome a disgrace. He half apologises to his bandmates for the rant that follows, about leaders who manage instead of leading.
He closes on file-sharing, which he got caught up in this year. It is too easy, and hypocritical, he writes, for the major labels to blame illegal file-sharers for the industry's ills. He recommends Stephen Fry's podcast on the subject.
The post also carries ten films to watch over Christmas, and the last of them is there because there has to be a Bond. Ed chose Moonraker for its scenes in Rio and South America; as a boy he went on his own to three matinee showings of it in a row.
