Thom Yorke posted a list of the records he is taking to South America on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, on 12 March. There are nine of them, from Jaylib and PJ Harvey to a Handel aria and Nina Simone's “Lilac Wine”. He wrote it, he says, with his washing done and his bag more or less packed. The last line asks readers to wish us all a safe journey if you still like us and you're not one of those people i have managed to offend by doing nothing xx3

It names no one, but Rolling Stone reads it as Yorke's answer to the complaints since the Grammys.

Robert Smith of The Cure told The Times last month that he disagreed violently with the pay-what-you-want release of In Rainbows, because an artist has to set the price, and called letting the buyer decide an idiotic plan. In a long posting on his own site, almost all in capitals, he then said he had picked In Rainbows only as the best-known example, and called those who turned it into an attack on the band idiots.

Kanye West told the audience at a taping of VH1's Storytellers, five days after the ceremony, that Yorke had ignored him there. It hurt, he said, because he idolises the band, so he stayed in his seat while they played “15 Step” with the USC Trojan Marching Band. VH1 cut the remarks from the episode it showed on 28 February, and its executive producer, Bill Flanagan, put that down to running time.

Miley Cyrus, who is 16, told Johnjay and Rich's morning radio show on 3 March that she had asked her manager to set up a meeting with Radiohead at the Grammys, calling them her rock gods and the reason she loves music. The answer came back that the band don't really do that. I left 'cause I was so upset. I wasn't going to watch. Stinkin' Radiohead! I'm gonna ruin them, I'm going to tell everyone.9

The sharper reply came from the band's publicist, Steve Martin. A statement to Us Weekly said that when Cyrus grows up she will learn not to have such a sense of entitlement. It went out as the band's, until Martin told Pitchfork that he was the one who said it.
