Ultraísta, the trio Radiohead's producer Nigel Godrich formed in London last year with the singer Laura Bettinson and the drummer Joey Waronker, release their self-titled first album today on Temporary Residence. It comes out in the middle of their first week of concerts, which began last night at Bitterzoet in Amsterdam and ends in London on Sunday.

The record has ten tracks, three of them already heard: “Bad Insect”, “Smalltalk” and “Static Light”, the last two the songs that introduced the band in the spring. “Bad Insect” is also the song in a remix contest that opens on 8 October, with the stems free to download and the winning version to be mixed by Godrich himself.

Two remixes went out ahead of the album. Four Tet's remix of the single “Smalltalk” puts a shuffling garage beat under it, and is only on the iTunes edition of the album. David Lynch, the film director, turned “Strange Formula” into a deep, rumbling piece of psychedelia, released with a video on NOWNESS last Friday.
