Atoms for Peace play a $10 Austin show after ACL is rained off

Atoms for Peace played a surprise show at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin on Sunday 13 October, hours after the last day of Austin City Limits was called off. Tickets cost $10 and went on sale at 6.30pm, to fans who were already queueing outside on a rumour that the band would play.

C3 Presents, the festival's promoter, cancelled the final day of its second weekend because of heavy rain and flash flood warnings at Zilker Park. Thom Yorke's band had been billed that day with Phoenix and Shuggie Otis. Nigel Godrich, who plays in the band, put the new show on Twitter, with doors at 9pm and the band on at 10pm.

The night was professionally filmed, and video of the whole show was online within two days. The set ran to two encores and took in “Rabbit In Your Headlights”, the UNKLE song Yorke sang on, and the Radiohead B-side “Paperbag Writer”.
