Radiohead played “Creep” at Le Zénith in Paris on Monday 23 May, for the first time since they headlined Reading on 30 August 2009, and Thom Yorke dedicated it to a heckler. This is for the funny guy shouting for ‘Creep’ at the back, if only to shock you1. Two nights earlier in Amsterdam, the band had only teased it after “Give Up the Ghost”.

Yorke came back by himself to open the first encore and sat at the piano for “True Love Waits”, played live for the first time as the new album has it; for years he had mostly played it on acoustic guitar. The song goes back to the mid-1990s and was last played in Prague in August 2009. There is a live version on I Might Be Wrong (2001), but A Moon Shaped Pool, out earlier this month, carries its first studio recording.

“No Surprises” came back too, unplayed since Santiago in March 2009. It was Phil Selway's birthday, and the band sang “Happy Birthday” to him during “Bloom”.

On Tuesday the night ended on “Karma Police”. The rest of the band left the stage, and Yorke, alone with his guitar, turned the microphone to the crowd and led them through the closing refrain before he walked off himself.
