Radiohead bring back “These Are My Twisted Words” in Seattle

Radiohead played “These Are My Twisted Words” at a sold-out KeyArena in Seattle on Saturday 8 April, the first time on the tour and the first time anywhere since Melbourne in November 2012. They last played the 2009 single in Seattle itself on 9 April 2012, almost five years to the day.

Early in the set, Ed O'Brien used “15 Step” to conduct the arena into the song's shouted “Yeah!” sample while Thom Yorke, maracas in hand, said thank you between lines.

The main set ended on “The Numbers”, and the crowd called the band back by holding up their phone lights. They came back three times, and the third encore, “Fake Plastic Trees” on its own, was not on the written setlist.

Yorke introduced “These Are My Twisted Words” once it was over. That's a little known song called 'These Are My Twisted Words.'¹ “The Gloaming”, which came next, fell apart, with two false starts, the drum machine running off tempo and the song cut short. Gabe Pollak, reviewing the night for KEXP, watched Yorke bound round the stage harder as it came apart, then turn it into a laugh. We're fucking professionals.¹
