Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood design shirts for Music Declares Emergency

written up for the archive

Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood have designed t-shirts and a sweatshirt for No Music On A Dead Planet, the clothing range of the climate campaign Music Declares Emergency, on sale from Friday 4 December. They cost £20 to £35 from its shop on Teemill.

Music Declares Emergency, set up in 2019 by artists and people across the music industry, presses governments to act on the climate and the loss of wildlife, and the shirts help pay for its work.

Donwood, who met Yorke at university, has made the artwork for Radiohead's records since the mid-1990s. The pair follow the letterpress artist Anthony Burrill, who started the range, and Jamie Reid, who made the Sex Pistols' sleeves.
