Thom Yorke remixes “Creep” for Undercover's Tokyo runway
Thom Yorke has made a new version of “Creep” for Jun Takahashi's label Undercover. It played under the womenswear part of Undercover's autumn/winter 2021 show at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo on Friday 19 March. Takahashi has called the collection Creep Very.
Yorke arranged it from the solo acoustic version of the song and slowed it down. The show's credits name him as the one who mixed it. There is very little under the voice, which cracks as it goes. The old build is still there.
He has written runway music before, for Rag & Bone: “Coloured Candy” for its spring/summer 2017 show in 2016, and earlier “Stuck Together” and “Twist”.
Takahashi told Vogue, by email, that the collection expresses the worries and anxieties people carry every day and the hope of what lies ahead. The theme is of a person who is frail and weak but has a truly pure heart.
