Thom Yorke mixes half an hour for Mary Anne Hobbs on 6 Music
Thom Yorke made today's Friday Guest Mix on Mary Anne Hobbs's BBC Radio 6 Music show, a 30-minute set that went out at midday.
Between the records he dropped in three old London pirate radio adverts, for an under-18s disco, a video shop called Videobox and one titled “Are You Sure?”, all from London Pirate Radio Adverts 1984-1993, Vol. 1, a compilation on the label Death Is Not The End.
The mix opens on Moor Mother and billy woods's “Maroons” and closes on Q-Tip's “Breathe and Stop”. In between, The Fall and Chaka Demus & Pliers give way to Mark Pritchard, Errorsmith and Charanjit Singh's “Raga Lalit”, from Synthesizing: Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat.
