Tamino says Colin Greenwood shaped his second album, Sahar

written up for the archive

Colin Greenwood's bass is a big part of the DNA of this album1, Tamino tells Elizabeth Aubrey of NME. The Belgian singer's second album, Sahar, came out on Friday, and Greenwood wrote his parts for it on his own.

Colin was writing his basslines in one room with headphones on and really into it.

Hours later he would walk through to the others, plug in and play them what he had, and Tamino says they were always remarkable.

Greenwood became a fan when he saw Tamino on tour several years ago, and he has been in his studio and live band since. Tamino hopes he can play many of next year's dates, which are still being worked out.

Tamino grew up listening to Greenwood, and says he teaches more by example than by advice. After so many years on the road and in the studio, he might be expected to have seen it all. But he's the most excited musician in my band.1
