The Smile announce their first North American tour

The Smile announced their first tour of North America on 13 June, 19 shows opening at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island, on 14 November and closing at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on 21 December. It comes with their European summer still under way.

New York got two shows in the first list, the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on 18 November, billed as the band's New York debut, and the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on 20 November. A second Kings Theatre night, on 19 November, went in before tickets reached general sale on 17 June. On 21 June the band added second nights at the Mission Ballroom in Denver and at the Shrine, each the night after the first, and by then all three New York shows had sold out.
